How I work

How I work.

I settle what your company builds on and lead the build with your team and your service providers. Until there is a result that can be checked.

Four steps

From the first look to sign-off.

  1. ReadI read what holds and what does not. In the figures, in the processes and in conversation with the people involved. On the building site: reading the structure. Format: Forensic
  2. DecideI prepare what has to be decided now and bring the decision about. You make it. From it come the rules that everyone builds on.On the building site: laying the foundation. Format: Consultation
  3. LeadYour team and your service providers build. I draw the architecture, talk to everyone involved and clear what stands in the way.On the building site: leading the build. Format: Rebuild
  4. CloseDone is what has been checked against the criteria set at the start. After that, the Direction Mandate can hold the direction. On the building site: sign-off. Format: Rebuild

You can start at any point. It usually begins with a Consultation. Which format fits, we work out in the fit call.

Who takes on what

I

  • read the situation
  • prepare decisions and bring them about
  • draw the architecture
  • talk beforehand to each person who is meant to build
  • lead the build and clear what stands in the way
  • check whether what gets built is what was decided, and step in when something deviates
  • check against the criteria and hand over

You

  • decide
  • provide resources, access and a clear mandate
  • approve the architecture and sign off

Your team and your service providers

  • design, code, build
  • handle appointments and tickets day to day
  • report in figures every month

Agencies build well. What is often missing is the plan they build to. I make sure it is in place before anything is built.

If your team lacks someone for the build, I organise the right people: teams and freelancers I work with. Who builds is your decision: your team or people I organise. I build and run ad accounts myself. There, the judgement is the build.

How decisions land

Until everyone has understood the same thing.

In the meetingEveryone hears the same decision and the same reason.
On paperAs a checklist or reminder card, where the work happens.
One to oneEveryone starts from a different place. I talk to each person whose work changes. Their concerns come onto the table while they still cost nothing.

“You get a guide you can work your way along and put everything into practice.”

How you know it is done

At the start, it is settled how the end will be recognised.

Consultation and Forensic end with their document. In a Rebuild, this applies to every build:

  • Goal and completion criteria are set down in writing before anything is built.
  • Every criterion can be checked: against a figure, a page or a process.
  • For every system built, it is written down how your team runs it.
  • At the end I check against these criteria and hand over.

A project can end here. Rebuild and Direction Mandate continue as a mandate, with no fixed end.

Formats

Conversation

Tell me what is coming up.

Twenty minutes, free of charge, nothing to prepare. You describe your situation, I tell you whether and where I would start. You know what a format costs before we begin.

How the call works

Optional: seven questions in advance
