Shopware migration, SEO and SEA

Move the shop system.

Your shop is moving to a new system, Shopware 6 for example. It should still be found afterwards.

The means are already chosen. First I check whether the decision behind them holds.

Your Shopware agency builds the shop. Beforehand I set what must not get lost in the move, and I make sure the shop gets found and the ads pay off.

Situation

Sound familiar?

The last move“Last time we moved, we lost all our rankings.”

Then it was usually down to addresses, redirects and content nobody had decided on beforehand.Place 01 · The decision that was never made

Shopping“The feed’s running, the ads are too. What’s actually left at the end?”

Then you are paying for revenue. Nobody knows how much contribution margin is left.Place 03 · What keeps running because nobody stops it

Plugin“We’ve got a plugin, that should do it.”

A plugin fills in fields. It doesn’t decide what a category should be found for.Place 02 · The work that looks like progress

Shopware builds the shop. It gets found when it has been decided beforehand what for.

It happens to good businesses. Usually when they have grown faster than their decisions.

What becomes possible

  • What brings in revenue today is still there after the move.
  • Products with margin come first, in search and in Shopping.
  • Shopware, Analytics and Google Ads count the same orders.

Who takes on what

I

  • read shop, feed, account and tracking
  • set what has to stay in the move
  • lead the build
  • check before go-live and afterwards whether the rankings hold
  • run search and ads, if you want it

You

  • decide which products come first
  • approve what gets cut
  • sign off and approve go-live

Your Shopware agency

  • builds the shop
  • programs the extensions
  • implements addresses and redirects according to plan

How I go about it

  1. ReadI read six zones: categories, technology, feed, ads, extensions and tracking. Each ends in a decision.
  2. DecideBefore the build I set which pages hold, where every old address leads and which extension goes. I prepare, you decide.
  3. LeadYour agency builds, I lead the build.
  4. CloseBefore go-live I check whether what was decided was built. Afterwards, whether the rankings hold.

How decisions reach everyone and what each format delivers

What may lie behind it

What a move takes with it.

Rankings. Addresses. Redirects. Categories that sell today. The feed. The tracking.

Often the reason lies deeper: the range has changed, the shop hasn’t. Or four service providers are looking for a fault, and none of them is responsible for the shop as a whole.

Rebuild the website

Review and run ad accounts

How you know it is done

  • Every old address leads to a new page.
  • The categories that brought in revenue before keep bringing it in.
  • The order numbers from Shopware, Analytics and Google Ads are reconciled.
  • What was decided is built. Signed off point by point.

The criteria are set before anything is built.

Decided

“If we decide beforehand what we no longer need, we’ll have less to move.”

Only what is needed moves to the new domain.

Found: Everything was meant to move, including more than 27 nested subcategories and duplicate products.

No loss. Rankings went up.

Limits

I don’t build shops and I don’t program plugins. Your Shopware agency does that. I make sure the shop gets found and the ads pay off. And I tell the agency beforehand what must not get lost along the way.

For Shopware agencies: you build the shop, I safeguard SEO and SEA. In a move I sit at the table beforehand, so your client doesn’t start from zero after go-live.

Conversation

Before the shop moves, it is settled what has to be found.

Twenty minutes, free of charge, nothing to prepare. You describe your situation, I tell you whether and where I would start. You know what a format costs before we begin.

How the call works
