Comparison
What does a business coach do?
A business coach supports managers and teams in finding answers themselves: through questions, reflection and guided conversation. As a rule, they don’t prescribe a solution. That is their strength when the answer lies within the person.
Cost
What they cost.
On average around €176 an hour, net. Experienced coaches with more than fifteen years are at around €212, coaches with up to five years at around €150.

Fit
When they are the right choice.
- It is about role, leadership or collaboration.
- The answer lies in the team. What’s missing is someone to guide the conversation.
- A manager is growing into a new role.
Limits
Where their limit lies.
A coach doesn’t judge. When the question is which offer gets cut or which of two plans applies, another good question often doesn’t get you any further. Then you need a judgement from outside.
Decision
What has to be decided first.
Does the answer lie in the team, or is a decision stuck that nobody in the team can make because everyone is involved? In the first case a coach helps. In the second, a Consultation. If it is about you as a person rather than the business: that is what Katharina Beer, Private Decision Architect at resultart, works on.
Comparison
| Role | Delivers | Right when | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coach, facilitator | Help so the team decides for itself | the answer lies in the team and only someone to guide the conversation is missing | They don’t judge. |
| Decision Architect | a judgement before the measure, in writing, and then he leads the build | plans contradict each other or money is being lost and nobody knows where | He doesn’t build himself and doesn’t decide for you. |
A coach helps you find the answer. A Decision Architect says which one applies.
